We've spent a lot of time talking about the UEFA matches in the past few weeks. Today we're going to take the easy way out, creating a picture book rather than one of those horrible ones filled with nothing but words! It's impossible to appreciate the atmosphere of UEFA and what these games mean to the players without seeing the players themselves. Today we check out some of the top-rated photos of the 2009/2010 UEFA season.

A sunny, relaxed afternoon … Ricardo Quaresma and Julio Cesar almost look as if they know they are going to cream one of the most intimidating sides in the current UEFA competition in this photo of Inter Milan's training session ahead of last week's semi-finals match!

Louis van Gall didn't need to be as worried as he looks in this photo! It was taken during the semi-finals match with Lyon last week, where Bayern came out on top, 1-0. Though it could be an exclamation of tearful triumphant joy … what do you think?!

Again during the Bayern-Lyon semi-finals match, Arjen Robben and Bastian Schweinsteiger are congratulating each other. I just can't pick the facial expressions from this German side! At the time this photo was taken the match wasn't over - perhaps the joy is mixed with apprehension.

This classic soccer shot was taken a little earlier in the competition, with Mohamed Sissoko of Juventus heading the ball, and Marouane Chamakh presumably doing his best to stop him! Love the sweat-spray coming off the ball … mmm…

We've become used to seeing this over the course of the current UEFA season - Lionel Messi is congratulated after scoring a second goal in the match against Stuttgart in the round of 16 this season. He might not have another chance to do this in the current UEFA competition, but he'll certainly have many more triumphant moments over his career.

The result between Bayern and Lyon the other day would have been much worse were it not for the efforts of Hugo Lloris - this photo shows his incredible focus and precision during a goal save in the Bayern semi-final.
