They Are the Champions! UEFA Matchups for March 16th, 2010

15. March 2010 14:45

The UEFA games have been kicking into gear for a while now, and we are starting to get to the pointy end of the season! The Champions League is watched in over 70 countries, commentated in 40 languages, and has top viewerships of around 200 million for some matches. It's time we started speculating - punting IS the sport, after all. Today sees Sevilla matched up against CSKA Moskva, and we get out the black-and-white hexagonal crystal ball and try to read the future through smudges of mud and grass…

The Clubs

Sevilla FC and CSKA Movska are playing tomorrow.  Sevilla FC have 13 points after playing 6 matches; CSKA Movska have also played 6 matches but have 10 points to their name. Sevilla is part of Group G, CSKA Movska is part of Group B.

The Odds

Sevilla's odds range from about 17.0 to 19.0, while CSKA Movska's odds sit at 151.0 across the board. This is probably the most telling factor of all!

The Players

Some Sevilla players to watch during the UEFA match tomorrow include:

  • Jesus Navas, Luis Fabiano and Kanoute (all forwards with 2 goals each under their belts)
  • Zokorra, Jesus Navas and Fernando Navarro, each with 7 plays.
  • Keep your eye on Squillaci from the defenders, and Adriano from the Midfielders, each with a goal or two under their belts this competition.

CSKA Movska have some big goal scorer among their team - watch out for:

  • Dsagoev, with 3 goals and Krasic with 4 goals

Gossip of Champions

What do the UEFA Champions talk about over a beer? Read on to find out (what our guess is!):

  • Gonzalo Higuain has found a friend in Real Madrid director Jorge Valdano - the big boss believes the striker has been mistreated since he left for Lyon.
  • The early exit from the UEFA Champions league for Real Madrid came as a surprise to Gerard Pique … even if nobody else is admitting it.
  • AC Milan defender Alessandro Nesta will go in for surgery tomorrow, after falling injured at last week's match against Roma (which ended up a draw).
